Today is the first day of my new job!! But it also means my 5 1/2 month vacation at home with the family comes to an end.

I haven't made much of a big deal about my unchosen sabbatical because I knew that it would all work out. I've definitely loved having time with Lincoln and Katie but there have been days when things just seemed not right. For instance: grocery shopping at 1oam on a Monday morning in the rain. Much love for stay-at-home dads, but when you're not doing it by choice, these little reality-checks can be dis-heartening.

I'm glad for the opportunity to return to industry. I'm glad for a chance to use and develop my skills. The road has been only what it could be, and it is all for the best.
