Music Spotlight

I’m toying with the idea of making Friday the “Music Spotlight” day. So this might be the first edition of an on-going series.

Several years ago I heard a song on the radio called “Hands Open” and I loved it (and I only heard it on the radio once or maybe twice). They announced the artist as Snow Patrol and I remembered a friend telling me about them a year or so before. That album, Eyes Open went on to spawn the mega-hit “Chasing Cars.”

The album pictured above is actually a 5 song live EP called, Live and Acoustic from Park Avenue. If you know anything about my taste in music it should be that I’m a sucker for acoustic versions and Irish/Scottish indie rock. So, obviously, this is a nearly perfect album for me. It is available on amazon and itunes.

If you were to go out and pick up an album by them and can’t find this one, I would recommend starting with Final Straw which is where the songs on the EP come from. So check it out.

If you have any thoughts about Snow Patrol or Scottish/Irish indie rock, I’d love to hear them.

    Hi Ryan,
Although I'm a fan of all kinds of music I have never been one to remember names of songs or artists! I'm sure this music is fantastic. Maybe I'll find the album and listen to it. I saw this, your latest post, on the GeneaBloggers network at Facebook and wanted to give you a rating. I live in North Richland Hills with my husband of 44 years so I am familiar with Grapevine. I'm always impressed with the young people who have chosen the ministry for a life path. Keep up the good work. God bless.

    Ryan:
Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for reading. Please keep coming back and
    engaging with us here.
